Already, things are looking pretty bleak. Basically, this blockout calendar shows what’s allowed, but it’s the Disney Park Pass reservation system that shows what’s available. Of course, the calendar below is just the first layer of blackouts. As you can see, only a single date (May 10th) shows all four parks as being “open” to Cast Members. Just like an Annual Passholder, Cast Members effectively have two layers of blackouts – an actual blockout calendar, and the Disney Park Pass reservation system.įirst, here’s a look at the Disney Cast Member blockout schedule. However, since the introduction of the Disney Park Pass reservation system, it’s not just guests who are finding the system a “ pain in the ass“, it’s Cast Members as well.

Disney Cast Members around the world are given free access to the Disney theme parks as one of the perks of being an employee of Disney. And with the new key holders, its just going to get more crowded. One of the perks of being a Disney Parks Cast Member is being able to play where you work. I used to love working here, but I am trying to find another job right now.

It makes everyone stressed and while they preach about giving cms make the magic, they are definitely not treated like they do. Disney reopened understaffed and with attractions fully available, when there were some attractions that didn't have enough staffing. Of course with schedulers we have to understand that they have hire ups who are making them decide schedules like this and that its rough because of cm understaffing. I've heard of ongoing requests for two specific days off being rejected, so you never know which two days you'll get off, until each schedule comes out. I know cms who have been here for quite awhile and are getting guest control shifts and now candy trail shifts. Our lead once told us that 80 people from custodial called out one day and told us that if you see trash get a claw picker. However, I would assume it's not just us. this is just the perspective of attractions.
#Disney cast member work schedule full
People who have other jobs have been quitting left and right around me, because they are getting scheduled full time hours. Then you have to talk to a manager to get that fixed if you can even get a hold of them.(smh) If you have another job you're even more screwed. School schedule requests pend for a long time and even after they are granted, a lot of students are still getting scheduled during class times. Anaheim Disney parks is understaffed and it's been a headache for cast members. Its been a month from this post and everything is still the same. I'm a month late, but wanted to repeat what some others are saying. Kind of bummed because I had I lot of memorable moments working within the company and made a lot of great friends. They couldn't even bother to schedule around this one summer class(2 days of the week, online and synchronous) I had been taking recently even after showing the schedule 2 months in advance. I will have to put in my two weeks notice soon because I just have absolutely no trust in scheduling at the moment to accommodate it. And the work environment is also just really toxic partly because of this.

The past few weeks I just had schedules where I had a near-closing one night and near-opening the next day and very little sleep between. Also, the schedulers seem to disregard the fact that CMs are humans. A lot of people that were originally laid off are coming back but honestly things still haven't changed. Of course this is leading to a lot of people I know quitting and is putting a tremendous strain on us remaining CMs lately. I have absolutely no luck trading away any shifts because everyone else also seems to get 5 days, and obviously no one wants to pick up more unless they really need the money. Of course this is happening because we are extremely short on CMs. Here I am working 40 HOURS per week without ANY full time benefits and can't even get myself into the parks. Personally, before the pandemic I've always had my schedule requests respected.īut since the park opened again they've been literally ignoring them.
